Tossin cast a peach tree in silicone after it perished in her garden from the effects of Los Angeles’s heat waves and drought. The artwork’s Latin subtitle suggests a rational, scientific treatment of this death.
However, the ghostly, skin-like cast retains bark from the imprinted tree, viscerally conjuring the fragility of life on our planet and memorializing the consequences of climate change.
