The privatization of space exploration in the 21st century takes the extractive mentality vis-à-vis natural resources to new heights, setting its sights on the exploitable resources to be found in space. This weaving combines satellite photographs of Mars and an eclipsed Earth, teasing out ambiguous visions of futurity in which interplanetary dependency and power dynamics might become the new norm. The pattern references indigenous Amazonian weaving traditions still practiced today
